The Calor 47kg propane gas bottle is the big one, the cylinder you choose when bottled LPG is your main fuel rather than a top-up. Its high capacity makes it a regular for central heating, gas fires, cookers and at holiday parks and static caravan sites, anywhere you need a steady, long-lasting supply.

Standing around 130cm tall and 38cm across, it holds a lot of propane and keeps going for a long stretch, so you change bottles far less often. It’s a sensible choice for off-grid homes, static caravans and commercial premises that want bulk-style propane without installing a permanent tank. Being propane, it’s happy outdoors and in the cold, and it uses a 37mbar screw-on propane regulator.

It’s supplied as a refill on a like-for-like exchange, so you’ll need an empty 47kg Calor bottle to swap, or add a Calor cylinder deposit if you’re starting out.
